When should my child see the dentist?
Most dentists suggest that children see their dentists by the time they reach their first birthday or, if it occurs before their first birthday, by the time their first tooth erupts. This general rule of thumb works for most children, but those with special circumstances may need to see their dentist earlier or later. Sticking to a regular dental examination schedule will not only keep your child’s teeth healthy and clean, but help them build a good relationship with the and their office to help nip any dental anxiety issues in the bud.

How should I care for my child’s teeth?
Caring for your child’s teeth will begin before their teeth erupt from underneath their gums. Wipe down your infant’s gums with a soft, damp cloth after feedings and before bedtime. When your child’s teeth begin erupting, brush them with a soft toothbrush twice a day. As soon as the teeth grow close enough together to touch, you should begin flossing them at least once a day. Stick to this very important routine to help your child develop a good oral care routine which will benefit them for the rest of their life.
